Nature offers us specific plant extracts that, when properly conveyed in formulations for topical use (such as creams and oils), are valuable allies in cases of leg heaviness or swelling; on the other hand, in formulations for systemic use, they help to improve the elasticity and tightness of the blood vessels, slowing down tissue degeneration and the presence of related symptoms.
Waven is an innovative line that leverages the full natural efficacy of phytocomplexes for a hollistic approach that focuses on the well-being of the venous system. It consists of a supplement that, acting on a systemic level, promotes the restoration of the venous function, and two functional topical treatments that, on a local level, through a complementary and synergistic action, provide relief from symptoms and restore normal circulatory physiology.
What is venous insufficiency?
Chronic venous insufficiency is a circulatory disorder that causes a slowing of blood flow from the extremities to the heart and subsequent "stagnation" of blood in the veins.
The most susceptible areas are:
- The veins of the lower limbs
- The veins of the hemorrhoidal plexuso
- The genital veins
This condition is widespread, especially among women. The current prevalence of varicose veins in the lower extremities is 10-50% in the adult male population and 50-55% in the female population. Varicose problems occur in 10-33% of females and 10-20% of adult males.
A degenerative issue
This issue is often underestimated or considered a mere cosmetic issue. In reality, venous insufficiency is a degenerative and progressive condition that, if not properly treated, can lead to several complications, including deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism. Particular caution concerns the level of homocysteine in the blood. In fact, if present at high concentrations, this amino acid can alter the function of vascular cells and lead to the occurrence of thrombi, causing the complications of chronic venous disease. In severe cases, pharmacological and surgical interventions are required.
